It feels like it was just yesterday that I was writing up my 2022 crochet goals. Time is crazy. As I briefly explained in my 2022 crochet goals post (which you can find here if you are interested), I talked about how I am very goal oriented. I like to write goals as a way to keep me guided with my plans. I have done this for as long as I can remember. I’m always creating some sort of goal, mostly short-term, but I have some long-term as well! I think that it’s always important to have some sort of goal in mind because if it’s something to look forward to. If you don’t have the same views as me, that’s perfectly fine. We all have our opinions and goal setting is just something that has always worked for me. Similarly to last year, I split up my goals into different sections. Let’s take a look…
Blankets
Continue my 2019 Folk Art Calendar Blanket by adding appliques
Work on my matching Better Together Afghan (I have two)
Continue working on my FRIENDS blanket
Finish my 2020 temperature blanket
As of writing this, I am at the end of September in my 2020 temperature blanket. So although it might sound very ambitious of me to want to finish the blanket this year, I think I can do it! If I’m able to work on these other blankets a little bit at a time throughout the year I’ll eventually be able to say that I finished them, but until then they aren’t going to get any progress done unless I actually work on them. I got this!
Charity
Donate to Hat Not Hate
Make little bookmarks to give to the public library (and maybe even my campus library)
Hat Not Hate is a non-profit organization that I always find myself running to. I’ve been donating to them for a couple of years now. In 2022 I was able to donate 11 hats, this year I’m not going to set a goal for myself regarding how many hats I make… I just want to donate some. I currently have a few hats that are already ready to be shipped out. If I can make out a couple more hats to add to them I’ll be happy.
I also had this cute little idea to make some small bookmarks to give to my local public library (and possibly even my library on campus). I’ve made some of these before as classroom gifts. I think that this would be a great idea, especially for a library of all places. My original idea was to hide them throughout the shelves, but then I thought about someone finding one and then taking all of them. So I then had the idea of giving them to the librarians and having them pass them out as people check the books out. I really like this idea and I hope that I’m able to go along with it!!!
Other Crafts
Explore punch needle
Explore cross stitch
Explore embroidery
Learn some new knitting things
Throughout 2022 (I almost said this year, oops!) I’ve expanded my horizons and learned how to cross stitch, punch needle, and re-learn knitting. I think that it would be really exciting if I keep it up and learn more about these fun crafts!
I know some of these goals aren’t as ambitious as they were last year, but I thought that I was being realistic last year and spoiler alert: I was not. I think that these are definitely reasonable. If I’m not able to achieve most of these, don’t laugh at me, we can just call it even and hope for a better 2024 haha. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!
